How To Elevate your Engagement Photography Game

Discover the Most Luxurious and Romantic Spots Recommended by Tuscany Wedding Photographers Sandy & Odysseas

Dreaming of a quintessential Italy destination wedding? Oh, lovers, thou can’t be blamed! Especially if Florence and the entire Tuscany region make your hearts skip a beat. Our stomping grounds as Tuscany wedding photographers are steeped in scenic landscapes, historical hill towns, sprawling vineyard villas, stunning castellos, and exclusive hideaways nestled in the heart patchwork fields, enough to make your head spin. To help you decide which one fits your Tuscany wedding goals, and fuels your wanderlust we’ve rounded up the 8 best Tuscany wedding venues in one post! Read on and take notes!

1. Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco

Catiglion- Siena, Tuscany

If saying I do in a private village owned by one of the world’s most influential and famous fashion families sounds like your idea of the perfect wedding, then meet the Tuscan castle-cum-resort, Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco. It comes with charm worthy of a Nancy Meyers movie. Owned by Chiara and Massimo Ferragamo and situated on the UNESCO-listed Val d’Orcia Natural Park. This gorgeous Italian venue features everything you might need on a wedding weekend under the Tuscan sun. Luxuriantly stately amenities, heavenly restaurants,  golf course, and spa included. Although we have to warn you — designer wedding kicks do not come complimentary with your Tuscan wedding booking.

2. Castello di Vicarello

Poggi del Sasso- Cinigiano, Tuscany

If you’re a couple of globetrotters and foodies, then Castello di Vicarello will fit your bill as one of the best wedding venues in Tuscany. Established in A.D. 1112, the honey-colored limestone castle is a thing of vast antiquity and stunning proportions. It floats above the ancient hills of Maremma in Cinigiano. Through its archway, you’ll find a medieval courtyard, where grass pokes through ancient cobblestones. You can spoil your guests rotten with tastings and spa treatments but the ultimate pleasure here is food. Think boar’s headcheese and boar sausage, barbecued quail to chew off the bone, and great meaty chunks of pork. Aurora will make the simplest salad from dark green, slightly bitter chicory leaves, and pecorino. You will mop the plates with flat Tuscan bread and wash it all down with the best wine the Chianti region can afford. WOW!

3. Villa La Foce

Chianciano Terme- Siena, Tuscany

Iris Origo, an Irish-American heiress and writer, and her husband Antonio Origo, a Marchese, purchased Villa La Foce in 1924. Over the course of the next 15 years, they transformed the dilapidated historic estate into one of Italy’s most sumptuous countryside villas. Hold your ceremony before its spectacular Nymphaeum. Or plan a fete at the illustrious historic Limonaia (a greenhouse for citrus plants). Stroll some of the most beautiful and artistic gardens in Val D’ Orcia designed by Cecil Pinsent. And you’ll see how having a Villa La Foce wedding in Tuscany will land you the cover story of every wedding blog on the globe!

4. Villa Cetinale

Sovicille – Siena, Italy

Villa Cetinale is the ultimate luxury wedding venue in Tuscany. Owned by a Pope, starring in the HBO series “Succession”, and have stolen the hearts of millions of Tuscanophiles. Sitting atop an ancient Etruscan perch, this oak and cypress-studded baroque marvel come with its very own monastery, swimming pool, immaculate Italian gardens, and rooms fit for royalty. Among its A-list guests? Mick Jagger, Kate Moss, Rupert Everett, Sophie Dahl, make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury (who celebrated her husband’s 50th birthday with a major bash at the villa) Mark Getty,  Rosetta Getty and her billionaire-heir husband Balthazar, film director David Hayman, Toni Blair, Elisabeth Olsen, Sofia Sanchez de Betak, Mia Moretti, and the Kardashians. Various Guinnesses, Naylor-Leylands, and Somersets have also frequented Villa Cetinale. Dare to imagine the pretty of a Villa Cetinale wedding and we won’t blame you if you DM us right away!

5. Villa Medicea di Lilliano

Grassina, Tuscany

Situated between Florence and Chianti hills, the 11th-century Villa Medicea di Lilliano is what Tuscan movie sets are made of. With direct views of the Florentine Duomo and one of the prettiest Limonaias ever, its terraced park and Medici gardens will hold you forever captive in its charms. Lavender, sage, rosemary, and citrus fruit scents in the air make a case for the most characterful I do’s. Luxurious but not ostentatious, it will keep you rambling about its frescoed wall spaces. Wishing you can take this gorgeous backdrop back home with you! And if you want to see what a wedding at Villa Medicea di Liliano feels like, hop to our latest Journal post to get the scoop of a perfectly luxe Tuscan affair!

6. Villa Grabau

San Pancrazio – Lucca, Tuscany

Time seems to stand still in Lucca, especially among the imposing gardens of the majestic Villa Grabau. Its terracotta-colored greenhouse (the Limonaia) will fill your Tuscan I do’s with zesty, olfactory notes. While the unique Teatrino di Verzura, immersed in a garden with boxwood wings and little lion statues, will make for the most romantic atmosphere in your vows. Surround your reception with “Ficus pumila” descending abundantly from the ceiling. And have your bridal portraits taken inside the elegant rooms of the Villa, entirely frescoed and furnished with antiques. A winner!

7. Villa Vignamaggio

Greve – Chianti, Tuscany

If you’re in love with 90ies movies and movie sets and want one to star in your very own romantic story, enter Villa Vignamaggio to channel those Hollywood vibes. In Kenneth Branagh’s 1993 film adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic tale “Much Ado About Nothing,” a double wedding comes to life at the picture-perfect Villa Vignamaggio! Settled by the Gherardini family—relatives of Mona Lisa Gherardini (yyyup, that Mona Lisa)—starting in the 14th century, Villa Vignamaggio is one of Tuscany’s oldest farming estates, and one of the prettiest as well. It is also rumored that Leonardo DaVinci painted the most famous portrait of all time on its very grounds, but we’ll also make sure your wedding in Villa Vignamaggio portraits will be as timeless!

8. Borgo Santo Pietro

Palazzetto – Siena, Tuscany

In a sleepy corner of the Tuscan countryside known colloquially as the Valle Serena (no surprise there it translates as the “serene valley”) Borgo Santo Pietro’s sprawling villa sits on the side of a hill, overlooking olive groves, cypress trees, and golden fields of flax and wheat. In the background, a mountainous landscape fades to a deep sfumato blue straight out of a Renaissance masterpiece. Borgo Santo Pietro opened its gates in 2008. Quickly gained a reputation for outstanding service and luxury weddings in Tuscany. It is the ultimate wedding venue for gourmands, organic produce lovers, spa aficionados, and dreamy location seekers. If you want the absolute best for your wedding guests this is the Tuscany venue to vow your love in!
